The fitting room test: Anaessia

On a shopping night out in Sydney, I was in the Strand Arcade looking for eveningwear. After trying on an unforgiving and overpriced white jersey dress in a popular Australian designer’s shop, I walked into Anaessia’s boutique, attracted by the unusual and dreamy interiors.
I had a good look around and touched all the different materials, and then took into the fitting room a beautiful gown covered in bronze sequins. As soon as I slipped into it, I felt how perfectly cut it was, even though it was just a sample of what clients get made-to-measure. What I expected to be a bit heavy felt sexy and figure-hugging, besides looking absolutely stunning in the mirror.

I was also fascinated by Anaessia’s see-through gowns: a symphony of lace, tulle, ribbon and flower appliqués, crafted into shapes that seem to come out of a fairytale. So innocent and ethereal, I wouldn’t resist the temptation to wear one with a contrast petticoat, cowboy boots and lots of necklaces.

If you have a special occasion coming up – a red-carpet night, your wedding, a once-in-a-lifetime party – make sure you try Anaessia’s gowns, that can take you to Wonderland but have enough personality to make you feel like a rock star.
